Pacific Northwest Tool Collectors Vocational Scholarship

Provided by Pacific Northwest Tool Collectors

Description:
This year the Pacific Northwest Tool Collectors (PNTC) will award scholarships of at least $1500 to students pursuing vocational or career education programs that lead to employment in trades and careers that make “hands-on” use of traditional tools similar to those collected by the members of PNTC. (See the PNTC Scholarship Brochure for a non-exhaustive list of the types of programs that are eligible for funding.) The training programs like those supported by this scholarship often are available in community and technical colleges, are usually 1 to 2 years in length, and usually lead to Associate’s Degrees or certificates of completion. (Note: Neither paid apprenticeship programs, nor training plans leading to bachelor’s or doctorate degrees, are eligible for this scholarship funding.) This scholarship is intended to support any combination of expenses related to fees, books, tools, and/or tuition incurred during the coming academic year. These funds will be provided to and distributed by the school you will attend. One may apply for this scholarship using the application form found on our website at www.tooltimer.com. Each application will be scored based on evaluations of the application including, but not limited to, the completeness and neatness of the application, statement of need, connections of the applicant to the Northwest, whether or not the field of study uses hand tools and equipment like those collected by our members, evaluation of high school, post high school grade records, and letters of recommendation.
