R. H. Thomson Memorial Scholarship

Description:
The R. H. Thomson Memorial Scholarship is an annual scholarship awarded by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Seattle Section to honor the accomplishments of Reginald H. Thomson, one of Seattle's earliest engineers that had a profound impact on the city's infrastructure. Applications must be postmarked by March 28th and the announcement of the recipient will be made by May 1st. The scholarship in the amount of five-thousand dollars ($5,000) will be awarded for the 2014-2015 school year. The disbursement could be in one year or in four years, depending on the recipient’s college career schedule. The aim of the scholarship program is to encourage students to pursue a course of study leading to a Bachelor or a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering or one of the specialties within the Civil Engineering discipline.
