2015 Jennifer Dunn-Thomson Scholarship

Provided by Washington Policy Center

In 2005, Washington Policy Center (WPC) honored Congresswoman Jennifer Dunn with our annual Champion of Freedom Award "for her contributions throughout her distinguished Congressional career," and "her strong leadership, support of free-market principles and being a friend to small businesses and taxpayers on the death tax repeal and other tax reforms." We continue to honor her legacy by presenting the Jennifer Dunn-Thomson Scholarship through the Jennifer Dunn-Thomson Fund for America's Future. The $5,000 scholarship will be awarded to a female college student who embodies Jennifer's values of leadership, commitment to public service and free-market principles. The recipient of the scholarship may use the money to pay for tuition or for an internship on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. WPC will help the recipient with an internship placement with a member of Congress in the fall of 2015. Our 2014 scholarship recipient, Stephanie George, said, "I applied for this scholarship because as a woman pursuing a political career in the agriculture industry, I admire Congresswoman Dunn's extensive efforts to pave the way for women in politics and the example she set for women pursuin careers in any field." A Washington State University student, Stephanie will use the scholarship for a congressional internship in Washington, D.C.
