2018 Jennifer Dunn-Thomson Scholarship

Provided by Washington Policy Center

We continue to honor Congresswoman Jennifer Dunn's legacy by presenting the Jennifer Dunn-Thomson Scholarship. Scholarships will be awarded to a female college student or students who embody Jennifer's values of leadership, commitment to public service and free-market principles. The recipient of the scholarship may use the money to pay for tuition or for an internship on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. WPC will help the recipient with an internship placement with a member of Congress in the fall of 2018. WPC is able to award multiple scholarships from a pool of $15,000 each year. The scholarships are tiered so that there is an overall winner, but the allocation of the funds is up to the scholarship committee. Our 2017 scholarship recipient, Stephanie Gero, said, "This scholarship has allowed me to broaden my education to include more time to interact with my peers and increased involvement in leadership roles within the law school. The application process also exposed me to the Washington Policy Center organization and the conservative voice that represents my personal beliefs, helping to give me confidence to speak about my viewpoints with others. I look forward to honoring Jennifer Dunn’s legacy of leadership and unyielding dedication to free market solutions." A student at the University of Washington School of Law, Stephanie is using the scholarship toward her tuition. She has secured a postion following graduation at Montgomery, Purdue & Austin, a law firm in downtown Seattle. She hopes to focus her practice on transactional real estate and business law.
